Today is a fine day. The sun is shining. Under the tree sit two families.
Mr. Frith is reading a newspaper. Mrs. Frith is his wife. She is at his side. She’s listening to music. Their daughter is playing on the grass.
Mr. Jones is with his wife. They have a rest. Little Jones is riding a bike. But he always falls down. Emma’s reading an interesting picture book. She is only three. John is Mr. Jones and Mrs. Jones’ eldest son. He is flying a pretty kite.
How happy they are!
Spring is coming. It is the season for planting trees. On Sunday, our teacher led us to the suburb to plant trees. We brought some spades, pails and saplings with us. On arriving there, everybody went into action in no time. We dug square pits first. Then two persons were needed to plant a tree. One held the sapling carefully and the other put the soil in. I wish the saplings would grow up quickly.
Trees can be damaged or killed by a wide variety of construction activities. Some practices lead to obvious injuries such as broken branches or torn bark. Open wounds of this type deplete a plant's energy resources and provide entry points for insects, or for diseases such as oak wilt.
The worst damage, however, often remains hidden underground. Roots are one of the most vital parts of a tree. They are responsible for nutrient and water uptake, store energy, and anchor the plant. Because they are so important, it is critical that you protect roots that lie in the path of construction.
Trees are never the same shape below ground as they are above, so it is difficult to predict the length or location of their roots. Typically, however, approximately 90-95 percent of a tree's root system is in the top three feet of soil, and more than half is in the top one foot. The part of this root system in which construction damage should be avoided is called the Protected Root Zone (PRZ).
We all kown that the tree is a kind of important natural resource.Because trees can help us improve environment. For example, trees can release oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide,This is a very important advantage. And trees even can protect the water resource. When it is raining, trees' roots can absorb the water and keep it not be eroded.
Of course, trees can beautify our world.Trees have a lot of benefits,so we should plant more trees to improve our envionment and protect the world where we live in.
