　　Olympic Games is the biggest event for the players, because it holds every four years. I remembered that my father watched the games at midnight many years ago, and I did not understand why he was so crazy about it. Now I watched the game with him and I started to appreciate the charm of sports. No matter what the result is, standing in the biggest stage and competing with the greatest rivals make the players feel proud. They chase to be higher, stronger and faster and these are the spirit of Olympic Games. When the audience see the players break the record and challenge human being’s limitation, how excited it is.

　　Nowadays there are a lot of false advertisements in society. They have caused many harms to society. Generally, their harms can be listed as follows.

　　First, they exaggerate the functions of the goods they advertise and mislead consumers. Second , some advertisements contain obscene contents and bring about spiritual pollution. Third, they seriously damage the credit of businesses because the shops which sell those goods will be distrusted and even considered the conspirators of those advertisers by consumers.

　　首先,他们利用夸大了商品的功能，误导消费者。第二,一些广告包含淫秽内容给人们带来精神污染。第三,他们严重损害了企业的信誉，因为通过消费者商店出售的这些货物将不被信任，甚至被认为是那些广告商的同谋者。

　　Personally, I am usually vigilant against any advertisements and so I have never been taken in. However, some people are credulous and are easily taken in. Therefore, in my opinion, effective measures must be taken to ban false advertisements and protect consumers' interests. First, all the advertisements must be strictly censored by the authorities concerned before they are published. Besides, severe punishment must be inflicted on those who publish illegal advertisements.

　　With the fast development of economy, various productsare full of our lives. However, taking a look around, no one will not noticethat most goods are decorated with many beautiful, attractive but excessivepackaging. This phenomenon should arouse people’s wide concerns.

　　The phenomenon exists for a number of factors. For onething, the majority of people are tending to present the gifts which haveexcessive packaging to their bosses, friends or relatives in festivals. Most ofthem pay more attention to the appearance than the gift itself. For another, inview of people’s vanity, more and more merchants are inclining to put moreemphasis on the appearance than quality to adapt to consumers’ demand. Inaddition, the merchants can get higher profit by excessively packing. Therefore,the merchants take delight in excessive packaging.

What’s worse, excessive packaging causesthe waste of resources and serious environment pollution.

　　Every day when we turn on theTV-set, what appears into our eyes first is advertisement. Some people think that advertisements have many advantages, while I take no interests in them atall. On the contrary, they are a great nuisance in my mind.

For another, advertisements usually take up plenty of time on TV, so we can’t watch any TV programs in a happy mood. What is worse is that many interesting programs are segmented by a lot of boring advertisements, which makes us feel annoyed. But we have to stand.

　　We can read of things that happened 5,000 years ago in the Near East, where people first learned to write.

　　But there are some parts of the word where even now people cannot write. The only way that they can preserve their history is to recount it as sagas -- legends handed down from one generation of another. These legends are useful because they can tell us something about migrations of people who lived long ago, but none could write down what they did. Anthropologists wondered where the remote ancestors of the Polynesian peoples now living in the Pacific Islands came from. The sagas of these people explain that some of them came from Indonesia about 2,000 years ago.

　　But the first people who were like ourselves lived so long ago that even their sagas, if they had any, are forgotten. So archaeologists have neither history nor legends to help them to find out where the first 'modern men' came from.

　　Fortunately, however, ancient men made tools of stone, especially flint, because this is easier to shape than other kinds. They may also have used wood and skins, but these have rotted away. Stone does not decay, and so the tools of long ago have remained when even the bones of the men who made them have disappeared without trace.
