对于“希望工程”我们要端正自己的态度。有这样一个故事：美国一位白领，每次下班都会给门口的`一位乞丐15美元，渐渐地给乞丐的钱少了，变成了10美元，后来变成了5美元，这个乞丐就疑惑地问：“为什么你给我的钱越来越少？”那位白领说：“我给你15美元时，我还是个单身，给你10美元时，我有女友了，当给你5美元时，我已经有了孩子。”那乞丐听了大怒，吼道：“你为什么花我的钱养你的家！”看到这不免有点好笑，但转而就觉得这个乞丐真的好无耻，那位白领帮助了他，他不言谢也就算了，尽把别人的帮助当成了理所当然的事，真的很让人费解。
换而言之，如果把那位美国白领看作是“希望工程”，而那个乞丐就是被资助的人，你会怎么做？会像那个乞丐一样？还是……？
做为青少年，做为一个有素质的青少年，我们要学会感恩，学会奉献，但对我们来说，学习是第一位，我们受着资助，我们享受着生活，我们的生活充满了希望，因为希望工程的存在，就有了希望的存在，我们带着希望在感恩中成长，在感恩中我们学会奉献，将我们所拥有的奉献给那些需要帮助的人，将“希望工程”的精神代代相传。
希望工程，给了我们希望，在成长的路上让我们拥有感恩，有了追求，我们才不会寂寞。
