The Spring Festival is very important to Chinese people. In the past，people could not often have meat，rice or other delicious food.
They could only eat these during the Spring festival. So every year they hoped that the Spring Festival would come soon.
Now， although people‘s life is much better，and we can eat the delicious foods everyday. People still like the festival.
Because most people can have a long holiday，and we are free to go on a trip or visit our friends or have parties with our family.
In the evenings，we can have a big meal in the restaurant or stay at home with family and watch the TV programs.
过年对中国人来说非常重要。在过去，人们往往没有肉，大米或其他美味的食物吃。他们通常只能在过年吃到这些。所以每年他们都希望过年可以快点来。

Several days before the new year, people beginto prepare. Farmers kill pigs,sheep,cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fh and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; couplets are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.
On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch tv until the clock strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year, almost everyone dressed in h or her best. When people meet on the way, they say to each other “happy new year”. Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. Children indulge themselves in games.

On the morning of the New Year, my father took me and my mother to my grandmother's house, which was in nanchong. It took us about three hours to get to my grandmother's house and I gave them an auspicious phrase: "I wish you good health and good luck!" After lunch grandma took me shopping, we came to the supermarket, wow! The supermarket is crowded with people, the goods are neatly arranged, and rich, I can not see.
We went back to the street, and saw all kinds of lanterns on the street and in the trees. As if I were in the sea of lanterns.
In the evening, I eat dinner to watch the Spring Festival evening party, I pick up the phone to send a message to the teacher say: "wish you a happy New Year, all the best, health!" The teacher replied, "thank you, and wish you a happy New Year! I was happy to see the text message.
